Job summary

NaphCare is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at the Middlesex County Department of Corrections in North Brunswick, NJ. This contract role offers an 8-hour work shift pattern and a preference for availability on a single 8-hour weekday shift or two 4-hour shifts.

Responsibilities include leading weekly group counseling for inmates with opioid use disorder, providing psychoeducation, and handling data collection/entry.

Qualifications

• Minimum of CADC certification with licensure required (LAC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC)
• CADC certification preferred for higher eligibility
• Licensed status must be current and active

• Provide psychoeducation about substance use disorders to inmates

• Provide psychoeducation about substance abuse to male and female inmates with Opioid use Disorder
• Data collection and data entry
• Experience working in corrections is a plus, but not required

Degree/Certification Qualifications: Minimum of Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) with license (LAC, LSW, LCSW, LMFT, LPC) required, but LCADC preferred
