Job summary

Fashion Valley Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in San Diego, CA, part of Acadia Healthcare, is seeking a Substance Use Counselor for MAT-based outpatient care. You will provide individual and group counseling, develop treatment plans, document care, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or equivalent required.
• Prefer Bachelor's or Master’s degree in social or health services.
• Registration/Certification from California-approved Counselor Organization (CAADE, CADTP or CCAPP).
• AOD Registration is required; AOD Certification preferred.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with MAT, CBT, MI, relapse prevention.
• Documentation of notes, treatment plans, progress per guidelines.
• Knowledge of state/federal regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality counseling in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate group/family sessions as needed.
• Ensure timely, clear documentation of care and incidents.
• Prepare individualized treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate needs and referrals to other programs.
• Plan for aftercare when appropriate.
• Provide crisis intervention and case management as needed.
• Liaise between referral sources and patients.
