Job summary

Metalforms, a leader in heat exchanger fabrication, seeks a Master Welder for its Houston/Beaumont operations. The role requires deep welding expertise across processes and the ability to work on pressure-containing and structural components, following WPS and detailed drawings.

Candidates must have 10+ years of welding experience in heavy fabrication, be able to perform 6G GTAW root with SMAW fill and cap, and tube-to-tube/tubesheet welds per ASME QW-193.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of welding experience in heavy fabrication.
• Experience with 6G GTAW root with SMAW fill and cap tests.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of ASME codes and standards.
• Capable of tube-to-tube and tubesheet welds.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex welding on materials including P1, P8, P10H, and nickel alloys.
• Execute root passes, structural joints, back gouging, and clean-up of back gouge roots.
• Fabricate pressure-retaining equipment in compliance with customer and code requirements.
• Perform tube-to-tube and tube-to-tubesheet welds, including ASME QW-193-type welds.
• Follow weld procedures (WPS) and detailed drawings to complete jobs accurately.
• Support fabrication of both new builds and repair/modification projects.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in the work area.
• Communicate with quality control and engineering to ensure code-compliance.
• Must be certified and capable of passing listed weld tests (6G GTAW root with SMAW fill/cap, 5/8" tube-to-tube, QW-193 tubesheet, 3G stick with back weld).
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
