Job summary

Staffmark Group in Houston, TX is seeking a Master Welder to join our manufacturing team. This role covers fabrication, joining, and repair of metal components to support safe, efficient operations on the 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM).

You will work with SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes, read blueprints, and ensure quality in accordance with industry standards. Grinding, fitting, and safety are key parts of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5–10 years welding experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Proficiency in welding techniques, fluxes, rods, and shrinkage management.
• Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of metal properties, machining, and safety standards.
• Strong mechanical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Welding certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Weld various metals using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes.
• Prepare pipe or structural pieces for welding, accounting for shrinkage.
• Repair castings, gouges, leaks, and other components.
• Operate welding and gas equipment safely (acetylene, electrical).
• Assist pipe fitters with pipe installation and fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and welding symbols.
• Inspect finished work for compliance with standards.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and maintain welding tools and gas equipment.
