Job summary

Foss Maritime is seeking a Captain to lead safe, compliant vessel operations across our towage fleet. You will oversee navigation, drills, inspections and reporting, while guiding crew to meet safety and performance standards.

Ideal candidates bring a U.S. Coast Guard credential, advanced towing licenses, and 5+ years as Master or Operating Mate on towing vessels, with strong communication skills and union placement readiness.

Qualifications

• Valid USCG MMD or MMC required.
• National Master 500/1600 OC or NC license required, plus towing master credentials.
• Radar endorsement and TWIC must be current.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe navigation of the vessel at all times.
• Oversee drills, training, maintenance and inspections for safety and compliance.
• Report equipment failures, illnesses, incidents and damages promptly.
• Hold crew accountable for policy and performance.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communicatie

5 years experience as Master/Operating
