Job summary

Thomas-Nissan-of-Joliet is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair customer vehicles. The ideal candidate holds an ASE certificate and demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key duties include performing repairs per repair orders, test driving, using diagnostic tools, and providing accurate time estimates. You will work with the Service Advisor to communicate needed services and ensure warranty work meets manufacturer specs.

Qualifications

• Must have ASE certification.
• Minimum 2 years of automotive technician experience.
• Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to learn new problems quickly.

• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Fast, eager learner and team player
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Computer skills and willingness to learn new problems
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Clean driving record & valid driver's license
