Overview
At Stellar Virtual, a Master Teacher for Grades K-5 plays a crucial role in driving the success of our students. As an expert in our organization, you will be responsible for supporting teachers and students in various areas including course completion, engagement, content proficiency, legal compliance, and state academic accountability. You will also manage escalations involving students, families, and staff behaviors. Master Teachers oversee grade-level teachers across all subject areas, ensuring that our “education with destination” model empowers students to recognize their unique qualities and align their skills and interests with high-wage, high-demand careers, to thrive in society.
Essential Duties
- Deliver instructional content for up to 50% of scheduled time.
- Facilitate weekly grade-level meetings to promote collaboration and alignment.
- Provide direct supervision and comprehensive evaluations for teachers within designated grade levels.
- Collaborate closely with special education colleagues to adapt curricula in line with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with diverse needs.
- Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings as a representative when required.
- Take charge of extracurricular activities as assigned, seeking approval from campus administration for outside initiatives.
- Ensure online learning environments are conducive to holistic student development, addressing physical, social, and emotional aspects.
- Manage instances of escalated student behavior following the Student Code of Conduct and handbook guidelines.
- Address escalated staff behavior per the Staff Handbook.
- Foster strong professional relationships and open channels of communication with teachers, parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
- Develop and participate in tailored staff development activities to enhance job-related skills.
- Uphold compliance with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
- Participate actively in faculty meetings and contribute to staff committees as needed.
- Proctor state tests in-person as required.
- Conduct People Analyzers for teachers within assigned grade levels and perform student and teacher observations to inform instructional practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in elementary grades.
- Successful completion of Reading Academy for grades K-3.
- Dedication to prioritizing student needs and success.
- Proficiency in the core academic subjects relevant to the role.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to using data to inform and improve instructional strategies.
- Capability to effectively supervise and support team members.
- Possession of strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Texas Teaching Certificate with a preference for Elementary Core Subjects certification.
