Job summary

Tom James Custom Clothing in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a part-time Seamstress/Tailor or Master Tailor who excels in their craft and delivers finely tailored garments with meticulous attention to detail.

This fully on-site role requires the ability to work quickly in a fast-paced setting, with weekly hours of 25 and compensation at $27.00 per hour. The position emphasizes alterations, quality workmanship, and timely delivery for high-end clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment.
• Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men's and women's apparel and ability to perform high-quality workmanship including hand and by machine.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-starter.
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with a strong organization of time.

Responsibilities

• To make adjustments to men's and women's suits, shirts, coats, blazers, dresses, and trousers. Included, but not limited to:
• Shorten/lengthen sleeves
• Taper sides of garments
• Lower collars
• Take in/out trousers waist
• Take in/out seat and rise on pants
• Shorten/lengthen trousers
• Taper trouser thighs and foot widths
• Ensure proper sizing of clients
• Manages all interactions with professionalism
• Tracks detailed alteration production daily
• Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads, and completes for client-ready
• Completes all work promptly to ensure customer delivery date
• Maintains a clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments
