General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process focus, requiring a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and strong product knowledge communication skills.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Achieve or exceed a weekly sales goal of $1250 through excellent guest service and contribute to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Develop relationships with guests through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
• Adhere to service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store standards.
• Follow dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
