GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. Delivers quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. Supports the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) by emphasizing performance (sales, productivity), people (guest service), and process (procedures and compliance). A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Master Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them consistently through:

Performance

• Performing hair services: design, cuts, color, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meeting or exceeding a weekly sales goal of $1250 and productivity targets through exceptional guest service, contributing to store goals related to retail, service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Conducting product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
• Staying informed about industry trends, products, and services, and understanding their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintaining prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Developing guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Partnering with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners to collaboratively deliver exceptional service.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Following safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Following established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Using booking and client management systems effectively for appointments and events.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintaining cleanliness and operational standards in the store.
• Adhering to the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Following loss prevention practices and providing excellent guest service.
• Performing other operational tasks as assigned.

• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used in technical work.
