General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look, support the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through performance, people, and process, and demonstrate a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform various hair services, makeup applications, and ear piercing (if applicable).
• Meet or exceed sales and productivity goals, contributing to store targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations to boost sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote guest loyalty programs and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Follow service protocols to deliver consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store standards.
• Adhere to dress code and protect assets through loss prevention.
• Perform operational tasks as directed.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience
