General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. Delivers quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look. Supports the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through performance (sales, productivity), people (guest service), and process (operating procedures and compliance).

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

  • Perform hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (if applicable).
  • Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1250 and meet productivity targets for hair services, contributing to overall store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
  • Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits.
  • Maintain regular attendance.

People

  • Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
  • Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
  • Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
  • Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
  • Promote guest loyalty programs and apps.
  • Attend training and meetings for professional development.

Process

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
  • Adhere to established service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
  • Use booking and client systems effectively.
  • Communicate supply needs and maintain store cleanliness and standards.
  • Follow dress code and loss prevention practices.
  • Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
Job Qualifications

Education

  • Cosmetology license

Experience

  • Relevant previous work experience required.

  • Proficiency in latest salon techniques and equipment.

Special Position Requirements
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions
  • Mobility, lifting up to 10 lbs., bending, reaching, standing for long periods, and object manipulation during shift.
