General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or exceed a weekly sales goal of $1250 and meet productivity goals.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Adhere to service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store standards.
• Follow dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.
