General Summary & Scope

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality services focusing on the guest’s total look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process, and possess a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Performance

• Perform hair design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed weekly sales goals of $1250 and contribute to store goals related to retail, service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Partner with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and app.
• Attend training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and client systems for appointments and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and adhere to dress code.
• Protect assets and follow loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant work experience required.

Skills

• Proficiency in salon techniques including haircutting, coloring, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Ability to operate salon equipment and chemicals.
• Skills in product recommendation and sales.

Special Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions
