GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. They support the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through performance, people, and process, requiring a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)

The Master Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Performing various hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meeting or exceeding a weekly sales goal of $1250 through exceptional guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink goals.
• Conducting product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintaining prompt and regular attendance.

People

• Developing guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Partnering with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Following safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, adhering to state guidelines.
• Following established service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Using booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintaining cleanliness and operational standards in the store.
• Adhering to the dress code.
• Following loss prevention practices and executing operational tasks as assigned.
