GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look. Supports the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager through performance, people, and process.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Master Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values by performing the following duties:

Performance

• Perform hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing.
• Meet or exceed a weekly sales goal of $1250 and contribute to store goals related to sales, guest loyalty, and shrink.
• Conduct product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures per guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and client systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
• Follow dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant work experience required

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
