Description
The Master Scheduleris responsible fordeveloping andmaintainingthe Master Production Schedule (MPS) to support customer delivery commitments, inventoryobjectives, and operational efficiency. This role drives production planning processes, aligns demand and capacity requirements, and partners cross-functionally to ensure material availability and schedule adherence. The Master Scheduler also supports continuous improvement initiatives that enhance supply chain performance and reduce operating costs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development, maintenance, and reporting of the Master Production Schedule (MPS), translating sales forecasts and demand plans into executable production schedules within ERP/MRP systems.
- Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to develop andmaintaincapacity requirementsplansthat support customer demand and businessobjectives.
- Establish and manage scheduling processes thatoptimizeproductivity, minimize inventory investment, and maximize customer service levels.
- Partner with Supplier Scheduling, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Procurement teams to ensuretimelymaterial availability and uninterrupted production flow.
- Maintain replenishment and planning parameters within ERP systems to support efficient inventory management and material flow.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs),identifyingroot causes of performancevariancesand recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate scheduling and inventory movements involving external processing and off-site inventory locations.
- Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including pre-S&OP reviews and supply planning activities.
- Maintain effective communication and strong working relationships across all departments to ensure alignment on production priorities and businessobjectives.
- Serve as a key liaison with Customer Service to provide backlog status, delivery commitments, and recovery plans whenrequired.
- Develop weekly supply plans and partner with Production to ensure successful execution.
- Create and manage recovery plans for past-due orders, driving actions necessary to restore schedule performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, inventory optimization, schedule stability, and operational efficiency.
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, ora relatedfield.
- Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in production planning, scheduling, materials management, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, anadditionalfour (4) years ofdirectly relatedexperience isrequired.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
- ExperienceutilizingERP and MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience developing and managing master production schedules and capacity planning processes (preferred).
- Proven ability to improve schedule attainment, reduce planning variances, and optimize inventory performance (preferred).
- APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD (preferred).
