Job summary

Ducommun, Inc. in Huntsville, AR is seeking a Master Scheduler to develop and maintain a balanced master production schedule aligned with demand, capacity, and inventory targets. You will collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance to optimize schedules and improve customer fulfillment.

The role requires ERP/MRP experience, Lean principles, and strong Excel and leadership skills to coach schedulers and drive improvements across the plant.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Operations, Materials Management, Logistics or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of ERP/MRP experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of proven Supply Chain and Planning experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain master schedule and review expedited requests.
  • Assist daily production schedules and adherence to planning horizons.
  • Develop and maintain plant capacity model inputs/outputs.
  • Coordinate with Production Schedulers and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop metrics to measure performance against schedules.
  • Provide inventory projections and address service level issues.

Master Scheduler

The Master
Scheduler is tasked with helping in the implementation of a standardized
planning process and plays a key role in driving the supply schedule answer to
customer demand opportunities. The Master Scheduler (in collaborating with
Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Finance) builds a balanced and achievable
plan of production that answers the demand potential to deliver the highest
level of customer fulfillment with efficient and timely usage of inventory.
Additionally, the Master Scheduler provides guidance to the Production
Schedulers.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for maintaining a master schedule, reviewing expedited requests and assisting in the daily production schedules along with driving adherence to the appropriate planning horizons.
  • Develops and/or maintains the plant(s) capacity model inputs and outputs by routinely updating routings and requirements estimates based on demonstrated output standards and estimates of new capacity conditions.
  • Ensures capacity is level loaded based on available capacity to optimally cover demand; includes the coordination of all new product introductions, end of life close‑outs, and plant(s) labor schedule.
  • Coordinates the work and provides directions to the
    Production Schedulers.
  • Develops metrics to measure manufacturing performance to schedules (lead time, schedule attainment, and schedule adherence) and works with Manufacturing to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Provides inventory projections and proactively identifies service level issues. Translates data and analysis into succinct actions, impacts and recommendations.
  • Coaches, counsels and provides support to Production Schedulers as needed.
  • Conducts various gaps and postmortem analyses between actual and forecasts, identifying key drivers for discussion in a future state S&OP demand consensus agenda.
  • Focus on continuous improvement within scope of responsibilities for developing, improving, and implementing sound materials management practices.
  • Responsible for protecting and maintaining all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information, documentation, or products; including authorized and proper use of such information in regard to marking, storing, transmitting, and destruction of data.
  • Support all visitors and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, products, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concerns.
  • Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee's work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and acceptable attendance is an essential
    function of this job.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of and experience with demand
    management principles and processes coupled with end‑to‑end supply chain
    operational processes.
  • Experience introducing/working with supply chain
    solutions, software and systems is beneficial.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of LEAN manufacturing
    principles.
    Ability to lead, motivate, and direct those on their
    team and provide direction, coaching and support as needed.
  • Experience with leading a team and handling associated
    administrative responsibilities such as performance reviews, disciplinary
    action, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team‑oriented fast‑paced
    environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional
    situations.
  • Keen analytical and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense
    of urgency, drive, and energy.
  • Track record of developing and implementing change to
    positively impact company performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work cross‑functionally
    with internal and external teams.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and
    multitask.

Required Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Operations, Materials
    Management, Logistics or related field; or equivalent combination of
    education and experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of ERP/MRP experience.
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of proven Supply Chain and Planning
    experience in a similar role.
  • Aerospace or Electronic component manufacturing
    experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, etc.

  • APICS or equivalent Supply Chain certification
    preferred
