Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Master Scheduler for a metals manufacturing job shop in Garland, TX. The role develops and maintains the master production schedule to meet customer demand while balancing labor, capacity, and materials.

You will lead daily scheduling, manage MRP/MRPII, support S&OP and Lean initiatives, and collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to drive on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in production planning or master scheduling.
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume or job-shop manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven scheduling decisions.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Master Scheduler Position Summary Responsible for developing and maintaining the production schedule to ensure customer demand is met while balancing labor, capacity, materials, and operational priorities. This role partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to drive on-time delivery, optimize production flow, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage the master production schedule.
• Balance customer demand with production capacity, labor availability, and material supply.
• Prioritize production activities to support on-time delivery performance.
• Identify and address capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and schedule disruptions.
• Lead daily production scheduling and planning meetings.
• Communicate schedule updates and changes across departments.
• Monitor schedule attainment, inventory levels, backlog, and production performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams.
• Manage MRP/MRPII planning and execution activities.
• Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Kanban, Just-in-Time (JIT), and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Drive inventory accuracy and effective shop floor control processes.
• Mentor, coach, and develop planning and scheduling personnel.

Qualifications

• ERP system experience required; Epicor experience strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven scheduling decisions.

• APICS CPIM certification preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning, production control, and inventory management.
• ERP system experience required; Epicor experience strongly preferred.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
