Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Master Scheduler for a metals manufacturing job shop in Garland, TX. The role develops and maintains the master production schedule to meet customer demand while balancing labor, capacity, and materials.

You will lead daily scheduling, manage MRP/MRPII, support S&OP and Lean initiatives, and collaborate across Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain to drive on-time delivery and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in production planning or master scheduling.
• Experience in a high-mix, low-volume or job-shop manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven scheduling decisions.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule.
• Balance demand with capacity, labor, and materials.
• Prioritize activities to support on-time delivery.
• Identify capacity constraints, bottlenecks, and schedule disruptions.
• Lead daily scheduling and planning meetings.
• Communicate schedule updates across departments.
• Monitor schedule attainment, inventory, backlog, and performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supply Chain.
• Manage MRP/MRPII planning and execution.
• Support S&OP, Kanban, JIT, and Lean initiatives.
• Drive inventory accuracy and shop floor control.
• Mentor and develop planning staff.
