Job summary

LHH in Frederick, MD is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to lead production planning for a complex, custom manufacturing operation. You will balance demand, material availability, and capacity to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining efficiency.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining the master schedule, coordinating with operations, procurement, and leadership, and analyzing constraints to optimize throughput. ERP/MRP expertise and APICS certification are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Several years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain operations within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, material planning, and production workflows.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.

  • Coordinate with operations, procurement, customer-facing teams, and leadership to support objectives.

  • Participate in planning meetings and drive scheduling-related improvements.

Job description

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to lead production planning activities across a complex, custom manufacturing environment. This position plays a critical role in balancing customer demand, material availability, and production capacity to ensure products are delivered on time while maintaining operational efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and maintain a master production schedule that aligns demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity.
  • Coordinate closely with operations, procurement, customer-facing teams, and production leadership to support business objectives.
  • Analyze capacity constraints and recommend scheduling adjustments to optimize throughput and delivery performance.
  • Utilize ERP and planning systems to manage schedules, routings, lead times, and material requirements.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and provide visibility into production progress, inventory levels, and scheduling performance.
  • Participate in planning meetings and help drive continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling and operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Several years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, material planning, and production workflows.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting custom, engineered, or made-to-order manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
