Job summary

Kihomac is seeking a skilled Production Planner to balance demand with capacity, forecast needs, and coordinate raw materials, processors, and staff to ensure on-time delivery.

The role involves leading scheduling meetings, optimizing the master production schedule, and interfacing with multiple departments to close gaps and improve performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in management or related discipline; 5 years experience waived if eligible.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in planning/production scheduling or related area.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, manufacturing planning, demand and replenishment.

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and optimize the master production schedule.
  • Coordinate material availability, equipment, and staff to meet delivery dates.
  • Lead forecasting meetings with Engineering, Program Management, Inventory, Production, Shipping, Purchasing and Customer Service.

Description Job Summary

This role balances customer demand and production forecasts with manufacturing capacity, raw material availability and outside processors, ensuring efficient factory operations and on-time product delivery.

Expertise and Functions
  • Create, manage, and optimize the master production schedule
  • Establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs
  • Integrate contract and purchase order manufacturing orders with master schedule; coordinate availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and staff as needed to meet delivery dates
  • Lead planning and periodic forecasting meetings with Engineering, Program Management, Inventory other related departments such as production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff
  • Identify gaps and drive solutions on production performance relative to the requested production schedule
  • Report key performance metrics on scheduling effectiveness in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Education/Training (both required and desired): Bachelor's Degree in management or other relevant discipline required Degree is waiver eligible with 5 years experience in addition to requirement below
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes
  • Knowledgeable with MRP / ERP systems such as JobBOSS
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS office applications
Security

Must be a US citizen. Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required.

Physical Requirements
  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, grasp and reach with hands and arms, handle and operate hand/power tools and machine controls
  • Perform frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate safety gear (e.g., eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, etc.) for the assigned task
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary

The projected salary range for this position is $30-$35/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
