Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Recruiting and Admissions for the residential one-year specialty master’s programs. The role requires strategic recruitment, travel, event planning, and high-volume prospective student engagement across on-campus and international outreach.

You will lead presentations, manage communications, and partner with marketing, faculty, and alumni to optimize inquiry conversion and enrollment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree; 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in graduate admissions, higher education, recruiting, or related field preferred.
• Demonstrated success in public speaking, relationship building, event coordination, and student supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment for specialty master’s programs with domestic travel and campus visits.
• Plan and execute engaging presentations, events, and information sessions both virtually and in person.
• Support digital recruitment initiatives via email, social media, ads, and web channels; collaborate with marketing and program teams.
• Serve as primary contact for prospective students, offering guidance via email, phone, Zoom, and in-person meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with faculty, alumni, and partners to expand recruitment pipelines.
• Manage application follow-up and yield communications using Salesforce CRM, GRADS ATS, and other systems.
• Monitor recruitment data and CRM analytics to improve inquiry conversion and enrollment outcomes.
• Provide admissions processing support and ensure alignment with university policies and timelines.
• Evaluate applications for admissions decisions, financial aid eligibility, visa needs, and transfer credits as appropriate.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent messaging and excellent candidate experience across channels.
• Support and occasionally lead evening and weekend events, including open houses and webinars.
