The Medical Social Worker is a licensed social work professional responsible for delivering clinical social work services to meet the medically related psychosocial needs of patients and families served by the hospital. Provides consultation to hospital and medical personnel related to biopsychosocial issues, continuity of care, and discharge planning functions.
Provide quality clinical treatment to clients as assigned by the Intake Coordinator and/or the Department Director. Provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients of varied ages and stages in recovery. Complete all documentation and paperwork specific to each department and in compliance with hospital requirements, DMH, BSAS, The Joint Commission, and Insurance Providers. Manage caseload through consultations, collateral contact, and follow-up with clients on missed appointments. Maintain Productivity Benchmarks, current professional licensure, and CAQH credentialing.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of mental health disorders within a clinical setting.
Graduation from an accredited graduate program (MA/MSW) and licensure eligibility.
