Muskegon County is seeking a Master’s Level Clinician II to provide evidence-based practice under general supervision to reduce symptoms and maximize recovery for clients. Documentation will be complete and accurate to meet agency, state, and professional standards.
Initial assessments will build on strengths and deficits, resulting in DSM diagnoses. The role involves developing person-centered treatment plans in consumer language, and may require an on-call rotation.
A Master’s Level Clinician II, under general supervision, performs evidence-based practice according to nationally-recognized standards to reduce symptoms and maximize recovery for individuals receiving services. A Master’s Level Clinician II ensures that all documentation of client contact and treatment services is complete, thorough, and accurate, to meet all agency, state, and professional standards. An employee in this class writes initial assessments that accurately build on strengths and deficits resulting in a DSM diagnosis. These assessments will include a history of mental health treatment, relevant family history, and current treatment recommendations. A Master’s Level Clinician II develops person-centered treatment plans that are written in the language of the consumer and reflect the consumer’s goals and measurable objectives. A Masters Level Clinician II may be required to be in an on-call rotation and performs other work duties as assigned.
An employee in this class generally performs sedentary work requiring the occasional lifting of objects weighing thirty-five (35) pounds or less.
A Master’s Level Clinician II generally works at the various HealthWest program locations; however, travel to locations within the County may be required.
Applicants for County employment may be subject to a post-offer criminal background check, depending on the nature and assignment of the position. When such check is conducted, an offer of employment is contingent upon the results of the criminal background check. Appointees must satisfactorily complete a probationary period before the appointment will be considered permanent.

The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list from which to fill present and future vacancies in this classification in the County system. For each opening, the Department Head has her/his choice of the candidates who meet the required minimum entrance qualifications. This list remains in effect for three months unless exhausted or extended.
