Job summary

Stone Enterprises, a manufacturer of precision food processing equipment, seeks a Master Production Scheduler in Omaha, NE. You will plan and maintain production schedules, align labor and capacity with customer commitments, and coordinate with machinists and shop leadership to keep lines moving.

You will monitor WIP, identify bottlenecks, and adjust priorities to meet on-time delivery targets, quality standards, and budget constraints. A hands-on, detail-oriented problem solver thrives here.

  • 2+ years in manufacturing or production setting.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain achievable production schedules from demand, capacity, materials, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Monitor WIP and anticipate delays; coordinate with Shop Manager to balance resources.
  • Issue prints, routings, and travelers to stations at the right time and route finished parts.
  • Drive continuous improvement with VP of Operations to lift throughput and on-time delivery.

Master Production SchedulerLocation: Omaha, NESalary: $65,000–$95,000 per yearSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: VP of OperationsIndustry: Manufacturing — Food Processing Equipment & Replacement PartsA Day in the RoleWhen you start your morning, you’ll scan the order board, check material status in the ERP/MRP, and align labor and machine capacity with urgent customer commitments. By mid-morning, you’re collaborating with the Shop Manager to load the floor, releasing prints and job tickets, staging kits, and removing bottlenecks before they slow the line. Afternoons are for schedule adjustments, communicating changes to stakeholders, and closing out finished work orders with variance notes. Throughout the day, you keep production moving so orders are completed on time, within budget, and to our quality standards.This is a hands-on role for a detail-obsessed problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced shop and enjoys working shoulder-to-shoulder with machinists, fabricators, assemblers, and operations leadership.What You’ll AccomplishPlanning & SchedulingCreate and maintain achievable production schedules from customer demand, capacity, materials, labor, and equipment availability.Set delivery timelines for quotes and confirmed jobs; dynamically re-prioritize as conditions change.Monitor WIP and anticipate delays, conflicts, or constraints before they affect commitments.Coordinate daily with the Shop Manager to balance resources and production priorities.Keep task lists, due dates, statuses, and issue notes accurate and current; communicate updates promptly.Shepherd jobs through manufacturing, quality inspection, inventory, and shipping.Materials & InventoryVerify material availability, calculate requirements, and place timely purchases to protect the schedule.Plan against min/max levels and job ticket needs; build and stage kits for assembly.Prepare blanks, components, and materials on job carts to keep work centers fed.Identify and resolve shortages before they create downtime.Manufacturing SupportIssue drawings, prints, routings, and travelers to the right stations at the right time.Move parts through operations and QC to maintain flow; route finished parts to inventory or shipping.Close jobs and work orders, documenting variances and lessons learned.Continuous ImprovementPartner with the Shop Manager and VP of Operations to reduce cost, streamline processes, and lift product quality and consistency.Use performance data to expose bottlenecks and drive higher throughput, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.Grow your knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technology.Champion a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.What You Bring2+ years in a manufacturing or production setting.Background in production scheduling, planning, inventory control, materials planning, or manufacturing coordination preferred.Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.Outstanding organization, time management, and attention to detail.Proven ability to juggle multiple jobs, deadlines, and changing priorities.Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and sound decision-making.Comfort making timely calls in a fast-moving production environment.Clear written and verbal communication; effective across all levels.Proactive timeline management and early risk identification.Comfortable in a dynamic shop where priorities evolve during the day.Solid computer skills; ready to learn ERP/MRP and scheduling/inventory systems.PreferredExperience in machining, fabrication, metalworking, assembly, or equipment manufacturing.Hands-on time with ERP or MRP platforms.Familiarity with travelers, work orders, routings, BOMs, and inventory systems.Experience using metrics such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, throughput, and schedule adherence.Comfort working from engineering drawings and specifications.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary: $65,000–$95,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits packageMonday–Friday schedule, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMSupportive and collaborative work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and developmentDirect impact on manufacturing operationsCompany culture centered on integrity, innovation, quality, and peopleAbout Stone EnterprisesStone Enterprises designs and manufactures precision food processing equipment along with high-quality replacement and aftermarket parts.
