Montgomery County Government is seeking a supervisory Master Plumber to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of complex plumbing systems across County properties.

The role ensures compliance with WSSC, State, and Federal regulations, coordinates with contractors and County staff, and manages budgets, quotes, and invoices. Strong leadership and MS Office skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent.
• Five years’ journey level plumber experience with two years lead/foreman; or Master Plumber with one year lead experience.
• Four years of combined plumbing training and experience acceptable in substitution.
• Master license with ability to obtain required permits for County projects.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and oversee plumbing installations and repairs on County properties for compliance.
• Coordinate with contractors, WSSC officials, and County/state offices on projects and audits.
• Prepare time & material estimates and track budgeted funds for plumbing work.
• Approve vendor quotes/invoices and ensure contract guidelines are followed.
• Supervise county plumbers and assign work orders; respond to emergencies and after-hours calls.
