Premier Home Pros is a growing, multistate bathroom remodeling company and a licensed residential building contractor in Minnesota. We are seeking an experienced Master Plumber & Field Quality Manager to help establish and grow our internal Minnesota plumbing team.
Initially, this will be a hands‑on position performing plumbing work for our bathroom remodeling projects once the company’s plumbing contractor license is in place. As volume grows, this individual will help recruit, train, and lead additional plumbing personnel while maintaining active field involvement and responsibility for plumbing quality.
The position offers an opportunity to build a department, develop future tradespeople, and potentially help establish an apprenticeship pathway in coordination with Licensing and Human Resources. We are looking for a skilled plumber who takes pride in their work, enjoys teaching others, and wants to grow into broader operational leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS (Essential Functions):
- Work with the Director of Licensing to support obtaining the company’s Minnesota plumbing contractor license and serve as its designated responsible licensed plumber upon approval.
- Initially serve as the primary field plumber, completing plumbing work associated with bathroom remodeling projects.
- Perform tub and shower connections, valve replacements, water supply and drain modifications, troubleshooting, and other plumbing work within approved project scopes.
- Review upcoming projects to identify plumbing requirements, materials, site conditions, and scheduling needs.
- Coordinate with project managers and installation teams to complete work efficiently and prepare projects for required inspections.
- Maintain safe work practices, protect customers’ homes, and deliver clean, professional installations.
- Help develop plumbing procedures, material standards, quality checkpoints, and staffing plans.
- As project volume grows, assist with recruiting, evaluating, onboarding, and managing additional plumbing personnel.
- Train and mentor team members, verify their credentials, and provide required supervision. Help evaluate and develop a potential apprenticeship pathway, including required program arrangements, supervision, training, and documentation.
- Maintain active involvement in fieldwork as the team grows, including complex installations, troubleshooting, and quality reviews.
- Conduct field quality checks of plumbing and related bathroom installation work. Address inspection corrections, workmanship deficiencies, and plumbing‑related service calls. Document completed work, site conditions, inspection outcomes, and corrective actions in company systems.
- Stop unsafe or noncompliant plumbing work and require corrective action.
- Maintain the individual license and eligibility required to serve as the company’s responsible licensed plumber.
Must Have:
- Eligibility and willingness to serve as the company’s designated responsible licensed plumber.
- Ability to meet Minnesota’s requirements for the designated managing employee, including active involvement in company plumbing work and restrictions on outside plumbing employment.
- Strong hands‑on residential plumbing experience, particularly bathroom remodeling, tub and shower replacements, and related plumbing modifications.
- Willingness to perform daily field plumbing work during the initial stage of the role.
- Knowledge of Minnesota plumbing requirements and local permitting and inspection processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot existing conditions and complete quality installations with minimal direction.
- Interest in building a team and developing less‑experienced plumbing personnel.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to Minnesota project sites.
- Ability to use mobile applications and company systems to document work.
Preferred Experience:
- Supervising plumbing crews or leading residential plumbing operations.
- Training apprentices or mentoring journey worker plumbers.
- Supporting a registered apprenticeship program.
- Developing work procedures, material lists, or field quality standards.
