A&J Plumbing and Sewer Service is seeking a Plumbing & Service Technician/Drains and Plumbing specialist. The role focuses on educating clients with options and delivering a range of plumbing services for drains and sewer lines.

The position requires knowledge of local plumbing codes, the ability to read English documents, and a High school diploma or equivalent. The candidate will estimate service costs and maintain a safe work area on every job.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English well enough to read invoices, time sheets and proposals.
• Knowledge of local plumbing codes and ability to apply them practically.
• Capable of applying sound business judgment in decisions.

Responsibilities

• Removes roots, debris, and other refuse from clogged sewer lines and drains using a portable electric sewer cleaning machine.
• Repairs breaks in underground piping; positions or disassembles sewer trap machine at sewer or drain outlet.
• Removes drain cover, using wrench.
• Installs rotary knives on flexible cable, mounted on reel, according to pipe diameter.
• Observes residue for evidence of mud indicating a broken sewer line; measures distance with tape or plumber's snake.
• Replaces broken tile or pipe and forms watertight joints with caulking compound and cement.
• Replaces dull knives and performs repairs on machine with own tools.
• Estimates cost of service to customers.
