Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Pressure-test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission piping systems.
• Coordinate with millwrights, electricians, controls, and other trades.
• Mentor apprentices and communicate progress to project leadership.
• Adhere to plumbing codes, OSHA, LOTO, confined space, and Teknikor safety policies.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Massachusetts-licensed Industrial Plumber to work primarily from our Fall River operation. This is an industrial role, not a residential-service position. The ideal candidate has genuine manufacturing/process-piping experience and is comfortable with process water, chilled water, compressed air, chemical and utility piping, equipment tie-ins, troubleshooting, and plant shutdown work. Most work is local or regional, with periodic nationwide travel as project needs require.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and modify process-water and chilled-water systems, chiller connections, cooling loops, headers, branch lines, and production-machine utility tie-ins.
• Install and modify compressed-air distribution, chemical feed/transfer piping, drains, wash systems, and other industrial utility piping.
• Work with PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized, stainless steel, black steel, and other materials appropriate to the application.
• Perform cutting, threading, grooving, soldering, brazing, ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/mechanical joining, fit-up, and related pipefitting work.
• Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, specifications, and field conditions; lay out work and execute to design intent and applicable code.
• Install valves, strainers, regulators, traps, instrumentation connections, supports, and related piping components.
• Pressure-test, troubleshoot, repair, and commission industrial piping and utility systems with minimal disruption to plant operations.
• Coordinate with millwright, electrical, controls, and other trades during machine installations, relocations, and shutdowns.
• Assist in mentoring apprentices and junior tradespeople and communicate job status, material needs, and schedule impacts to project leadership.
• Perform work in compliance with applicable plumbing codes, OSHA requirements, LOTO, confined space, chemical-handling, and Teknikor safety policies.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Journeyman or Master Plumber's License.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on industrial plumbing or process-pipefitting experience in manufacturing or industrial plant environments.
• Demonstrated experience with process/chilled water, compressed air, and industrial utility or process piping.
• Experience with multiple piping materials and joining methods, including threaded, grooved, pressed, soldered/brazed, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, isometrics, and technical specifications and work independently from drawings and field conditions.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and safe work practices in active industrial facilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel periodically, approximately 30% depending on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Rhode Island plumbing license; dual MA/RI licensing is highly desirable.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, Confined Space, First Aid/CPR.
• Welding or weld-prep / fit-up experience.
• Experience with chillers, cooling towers, machine utility tie-ins, chemical-resistant piping, or industrial facility buildouts.
