Job summary

Teknikor in Fall River, MA is seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter/Welder to lay out, fit, install, and repair process piping across multiple trades. Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on industrial pipefitting experience.

• Demonstrated welding and pipe-fit-up capability appropriate to industrial installation work.
• Ability to troubleshoot piping systems and perform pressure testing, inspection, modification, and repair.
• Ability to work extended shifts, at height, and in industrial environments; able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including overnight and weekend assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, install, modify, and repair industrial process and utility piping from drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, field measurements, and project requirements.
• Work with various piping materials including PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized, stainless steel, black steel.
• Perform ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/grooved, threaded, soldered/brazed, and welded joining methods as required by the system and job scope.
• Fit and weld carbon and stainless piping and components using MIG, TIG, and/or Stick processes based on project requirements.
• Install process water, chilled water, compressed air, hydraulic, gas, steam, chemical, drain, and machine utility piping systems as applicable.
• Install valves, regulators, strainers, supports, hangers, instrumentation connections, and equipment tie-ins.
• Measure, cut, prep, fit, and assemble piping; verify routing, slope, clearances, supports, and conformance.
• Pressure-test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair installed systems; identify leaks and deficiencies.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment; work at height.
• Coordinate with plumbers, millwrights, electricians, controls technicians, and project leadership on installations.
• Maintain strict jobsite safety compliance (LOTO, confined-space, hotwork).

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pipefitter / Welder with a strong background in manufacturing and industrial process piping. The ideal candidate is comfortable laying out, fitting, installing, modifying, and repairing piping systems using a broad range of materials and joining methods. This is not a commercial plumbing position; we need someone who understands machine/process piping and can work independently as part of a multi-trade industrial installation crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Lay out, fabricate, install, modify, and repair industrial process and utility piping from drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, field measurements, and project requirements.
• Work with PVC, CPVC, copper, galvanized, stainless steel, black steel, and other industrial piping materials.
• Perform ProPress, MegaPress, Victaulic/grooved, threaded, soldered/brazed, and welded joining methods as required by the system and job scope.
• Fit and weld carbon and stainless piping and components using appropriate MIG, TIG, and/or Stick processes based on demonstrated skill and project requirements.
• Install process water, chilled water, compressed air, hydraulic, gas, steam, chemical, drain, and machine utility piping systems as applicable.
• Install valves, regulators, strainers, supports, hangers, instrumentation connections, and equipment tie-ins.
• Measure, cut, prep, fit, and assemble piping accurately; verify routing, slope, clearances, supports, and conformance with drawings and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine/process piping, plant relocations, utility tie-ins, wastewater, chillers, or chemical/process systems.
• Forklift, aerial lift, or rigging training.
