Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers' Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, is seeking a Community Planner to support planning and programming activities at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. You will work under the Branch Chief, Planning and Programming, and with project managers to shape master planning and area development efforts.

You will apply regulations, resolve planning and encroachment issues, and provide independent judgment on approaches to facility siting and energy conservation projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in community planning or related field with coursework in planning processes, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
• Combination of education and experience may be acceptable with the relevant coursework totaling at least 24 semester hours and appropriate experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a Community Planner within Planning and Programming Branch under supervision of Branch Chief and program managers.
• Applies regulations and policies to diverse projects, resolves planning conflicts, and coordinates with multiple stakeholders.
• Operates with initiative and professional judgment, aligning work with policy and program priorities.
