Job summary

Southern Land Company in Moncure, NC is seeking a full-time Development Manager to lead the development of a new master-planned community. You will oversee due diligence, design/engineering interfaces, finance, construction, and community engagement to deliver on schedule and budget.

The role requires coordinating with contractors, utilities, and government agencies, managing budgets and pro formas, and ensuring compliance with environmental and building regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in real estate management.
• Strong knowledge of land use planning and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate due diligence with contractors, engineers, authorities, and inspectors to obtain permits.
• Oversee development from permit through to final bond release and turnover.
• Manage budgets, pro formas, and cost forecasting across design, construction, and finance.
• Engage with design professionals and utilities to ensure cost/time effective solutions.
• Communicate with HOA, residents, and internal teams to maintain project progress.
