Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Clarksville, TN seeks a Mechanic to support mechanical service and retrofit work on HVAC systems, piping, ducting interfaces, and field-fit needs at active job sites. You will read drawings and specs, install components, and ensure proper fit-up while upholding safety standards.

This position requires performing gasket and flange work, valve replacements, torquing with torque wrenches, and executing lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC or industrial maintenance.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and apply lockout/tagout.
• Willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support equipment and ducting interfaces.
• Replace pipe gaskets, prepare flange faces, align flanges, and verify sealing surfaces.
• Carry out chiller valve replacements (isolation, removal/replacement, reassembly, checks).
• Install flanged pipe couplings and torque to specification with appropriate tools.
• Execute LOTO procedures and verify zero-energy state.
• Read job documents and work from drawings/specs to complete tasks correctly the first time.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and use PPE according to policies.
• Communicate job status, material needs, and field issues to the supervisor/foreman; document completed work.
• Use torque wrenches and standard hand/power tools properly.
• Support troubleshooting and basic mechanical service tasks.
