Job summary

Comfort Systems USA seeks a skilled mechanic to support mechanical service, piping, and HVAC retrofit work. You will perform sheet metal modifications, gasket and valve replacements, and flange installations on active job sites while maintaining safe practices and following drawings and specifications.

Travel to construction sites is required, and you will use torque wrenches and standard hand tools to ensure precise fit-ups and compliant torque.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical service, piping, HVAC, or industrial maintenance.
• Knowledge of flanges, gaskets, valves, and mechanical connections.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work safely on active job sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal modification and installation to support mechanical equipment and duct interfaces.
• Remove and replace pipe gaskets; prepare flange faces and ensure proper fit-up and sealing surfaces.
• Complete chiller valve replacements and perform operational checks per requirements.
• Install flanged pipe couplings and torque to specification with appropriate tools.
• Execute lockout/tagout procedures and verify zero-energy state.
• Read job documentation and work from drawings and work orders to complete tasks correctly.
