Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking a skilled vehicle technician for Budget Truck operations in Tempe, AZ. You will perform repairs on newer cargo vans and box trucks, diagnose engines, transmissions, and electrical systems to keep customers' fleets on the road.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional automotive or truck repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3).
• Ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Valid driver's license (Class A, B, or C).
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of newer cargo vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, A/C, and onboard computers.
• Mentor other technicians and support diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices.
• Drive Budget Trucks on public roads for testing, repair verification, or transport needs.
• Help reduce downtime and maintain fleet availability to ensure reliable customer experiences.

This includes diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems.You may act as a technical expert and mentor to other technicians, supporting diagnostics, repair strategies, and best practices.
