Job summary

New-indy Catawba Llc is seeking a Machinist Master Craftsman to repair and maintain plant equipment at a world-class pulp and paper mill in South Carolina. You will work under a Master Craftsman, operating mills, lathes, and rigging for critical outages, while developing specialized skills.

The role emphasizes safety, blueprint reading, math proficiency, and teamwork in a union environment. On-site, day shift with required physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Machine Tool or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years related industry experience with a stable work history.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems (Microsoft Office).
• Comfortable working in a Union environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate power tools.
• Operate a manual milling machine.
• Operate a manual lathe.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damage.
• Assist Mechanical Master Craftsmen during shutdowns and outages.
• Prepare rigging for hoisting rolls, gear boxes, motors, etc.
