Job summary

Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation, Columbia Plant, seeks a Master Machinist to read blueprints, perform fabrication, welding and tooling repair. Design jigs and templates for part fabrication and maintain precision tolerances.

Qualifications

  • General machining knowledge is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is preferred.
  • Most time is spent standing and manual dexterity is important.
  • Work environment includes factory conditions (heat, dust).

Responsibilities

  • Read tool and die blueprints and select appropriate tooling.
  • Perform fabrication and welding tasks as needed.
  • Repair tooling and fixtures; design jigs and templates.
  • Operate grinding and milling machines and set up tooling.
  • Measure and inspect parts for tolerances and defects.
  • Repair molds and inspect finished dies for quality.
  • Assist with tear down, clean, and reassembly after fixes.
  • Ensure proper setup of drills, lathes, grinders, and mills.

Compensation: $39.91 / hour




Description

As a Master Machinist at Reliable Safety & Flow Corporation - Columbia Plant, you will have the opportunity to work with your hands. You may be responsible for reading blueprints, fabrication/welding, tooling repair, designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts.




Key Responsibilities


  • Tool and die blueprint reading

  • Mechanical knowledge

  • Fabrication/welding

  • Familiar with Injection Molding

  • Manufacturing repair

  • Tooling repair

  • Precision measuring instrument

  • Repairing molds

  • Operating grinding and milling machines

  • Tear down, clean, assemble after fix, clean, polish

  • Grind, mill & lathe

  • Visualizing and computing metal shapes and tolerances

  • Designing jigs and templates as work aids in the fabrication of parts

  • Measuring and marking metal stock for machining

  • Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines

  • Filing, grinding, shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish

  • Fitting and assembling tools and mold parts

  • Inspecting finished dies and molds for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities

  • All other duties/tasks as assigned




Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • General Machine Knowledge

  • AutoCad or Solidworks Experience

  • Majority of time is spent standing and repetitive use of both hands

  • Working in a factory environment - heat, dust, etc.
