Job summary

You will raise, place, and unite girders and structural steel to form completed structures, following blueprints and safety protocols. A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in the Industrial Ironworker craft is required.

Applicants must be able to read and speak fluent English, with certifications such as NCCER and Advanced Rigging preferred. The role may require travel or commuting to different sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and safety information and to write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and selects required material for construction.
• Sets up hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural steel members.
• Fastens steel members to hoist cables using chain, rope or rope.
• Guides lifted structure into position and aligns rivet holes.
• Bolts or welds structures to secure them in place.
• Assesses vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bob and level.
