GM Master Technicians are responsible for:
Performingadvanced diagnosticsand repairs on complex GM vehicles, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, steering, and HVAC.
Ensuring repairs meetGM’s quality and safety standards using the latest diagnostic tools and technology.
Maintaining and servicingengine performance, electrical/electronics, and drivetrain systems GM Service Technical College.
Mentoring and trainingjunior technicians to improve shop performance and customer satisfaction.
Achieved throughGM Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP)or GM Service Technical College (STC) training.
Requires completingMaster Technician Certification (MTC)in select mechanical or body areas, often alongside ASE certifications GM Service Technical College.
Conductcomprehensive vehicle inspections and identify root causes of complex issues.
Useadvanced diagnostic scanners, oscilloscopes, and proprietary GM tools.
Performquality control checks and ensure compliance with safety and emissions regulations.
Leadrepair workflows and assist in shop operations, including foreman duties in some roles.
Stay updated onnew GM technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicle systems.
Advanced diagnosticsand computer-aided repair techniques.
Expertise inengine performance, diesel engine performance, transmission servicing, and electrical systems.
