Grand Rapids Community College seeks a Master Electrician to manage in-house electrical work, maintenance projects, and special events across GRCC facilities. The role reviews plans, validates requirements, and troubleshoots equipment from lights to generators.

The position collaborates with maintenance, HVAC, plumbing and outside vendors, ensuring all work complies with NEC and safety guidelines. Experience in an academic setting is preferred and a Michigan driver license is required.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Master Electrician license required.
• Five (5) years of experience as a master electrician preferred.
• Experience in an academic setting preferred.
• Must have valid Michigan driver license.

Mansioni

• Plan, organize and layout all components of electrical work using blueprints and specs.
• Coordinate work between maintenance, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry departments and outside vendors.
• Perform electrical work in medium voltage systems and relays.
• Repair motors, generators and controllers from fractional horsepower to 500 hp.
• Repair, renovate and install electrical systems per NEC and manufacturer specs.
