Jetson Home is hiring a Master Electrician in Columbia, MD to lead residential electrical installs for heat pump systems. You will remove gas infrastructure and upgrade panels while coordinating with HVAC teams and engineers.

You must have a Maryland Master Electrician license, strong load calculation skills, and the ability to pull permits across jurisdictions. Join a hands-on team focused on safe, code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• MD Master Electrician license required; MD jurisdiction permits must be able to pull permits.
• Extensive residential wiring experience including service upgrades and large load additions (heat pumps, EV charging).
• Familiar with modern panel technology and code-compliant solutions.
• Ability to perform accurate load calculations using standard methods.
• Comfort working in older homes with legacy wiring challenges.
• Experience coordinating with HVAC teams on multi-trade jobs.
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills with methodical approach.
• Physical stamina for hands-on installations.
• Valid driver's license; compliance with OSHA Electrical Standards and LOTO.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical infrastructure to support heat pump systems on every job.
• Perform load calculations and design code-compliant solutions that work in practice.
• Upgrade main panels, including smart panels and sub-panels.
• Pull permits and manage inspections across MD jurisdictions.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Troubleshoot issues on-site and perform timely repairs.
• Coordinate with HVAC crews and other trades to keep jobs moving.
• Perform preventive maintenance and flag issues early.
• Test systems for functionality, performance, and code compliance.
• Identify inefficiencies in install processes and propose improvements.
• Maintain compliance with NEC and local electrical codes.
