Job summary

Regional Transit Service (RTS) is seeking a Master Electrician in Rochester, NY to maintain, repair, and install electrical distribution systems across RTS facilities. This role includes building trades work and ensures safe, reliable operations for eight counties and 1,000+ employees.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, testing systems, and coordinating with maintenance teams. Requires a Master Electrician license, NY driver license, CDL Class B permit, and physical stamina.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Master Electrician license (Three-Phase) by City of Rochester Electrical Examining Board.
• New York State driver license with clean record.
• Must have tools to perform assigned work.
• CDL Class B permit with passenger and air brake endorsements before employment.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems and equipment.
• Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, motors, and other electrical components.
• Inspect electrical systems and equipment for hazards and code violations.
• Test electrical systems with meters and diagnostic equipment.
• Plan electrical installations per project specs and codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Perform building trades including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and remodeling as needed.
• Advise management on electrical safety and reliability.
