Job description

Ambrosia Energy is on a mission to make solar + battery systems the fastest-to-deploy and most cost-effective energy source in the US and beyond. As global energy demand surges—driven by the rapid rise of data centers, electric vehicles, and future in-home robotics—the world stands at a critical energy inflection point. To meet this challenge, we need innovative, scalable power sources. Our engineering-led team, with expertise in designing and deploying satellite constellations (Swarm, Starlink Mobile), is now focused on energy on Earth. We're developing affordable, clean energy solutions with new battery storage systems. United by strong team camaraderie, we prioritize speed, rapid iteration, vertical integration, and a test-like-you-fly approach. We're committed to making an impact on the future of energy.

As the Master Electrician, you will be the absolute authority on electrical execution, safety, and compliance for our rapid-deployment utility-scale solar and battery infrastructure in Texas. You will pull permits, oversee complex grid-interconnections, lead and mentor field crews, and sign off on high-voltage system commissions. This is a hands-on leadership role for a technical expert who thrives in fast-paced field environments, executes with extreme urgency, and wants to build the future of energy infrastructure from the ground up.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the designated Master Electrician of Record for Ambrosia Energy's Texas operations, pulling necessary electrical permits and ensuring all installations comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local utility requirements.

  • Lead, mentor, and sign off on the work of field electricians, technicians, and installers deploying rapid-deployment solar arrays and containerized battery storage units.

  • Oversee high-voltage and low-voltage field wiring, main service panel tie-ins, medium-voltage transformer connections, and utility grid interconnections.

  • Develop, implement, and enforce rigorous commissioning test protocols—including cold checks, hot checks, loop checks, and insulation resistance (megger) testing to certify field assets safely.

  • Troubleshoot complex electrical faults on-site, including DC-DC conversion systems, solar MPPT networks, power distribution units, and fiber/copper communication infrastructure.

  • Collaborate directly with our California and Austin-based engineering teams to review design schematics, propose optimizations for field manufacturability, and streamline plug-and-play installation processes.

  • Own site-wide electrical safety programs, ensuring strict adherence to NFPA 70E standards and proper OSHA lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

Qualifications
  • Valid State of Texas Master Electrician License in good standing.

  • 7+ years of professional hands-on experience in industrial, commercial, or utility-scale electrical construction.

  • Proven track record leading electrical crews, managing field sub-contractors, and collaborating directly with building inspectors and utility engineers.

  • Expert-level knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and local Texas utility interconnection frameworks.

  • Mastery in reading, interpreting, and redlining complex electrical schematics, three-line diagrams, and instrumentation drawings.

  • Exceptional physical stamina: Ability to work actively in extreme outdoor desert environments (sun, heat, dust, wind), stand or walk for the duration of a shift, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

  • Extreme attention to detail and the ability to author technical instructions, safety protocols, and field reports in English.

Preferred Skills or Experience
  • Deep, hands-on experience installing utility-scale solar fields, commercial solar microgrids, or utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

  • Familiarity with high-voltage DC system hazards, lithium-ion battery management systems, and central inverter technologies.

  • Experience in fast-paced, high-stakes operational environments (e.g., aerospace test complexes, automotive assembly plants, or industrial automation facilities).

  • Active certifications in OSHA 30 and heavy equipment operation (forklifts, telehandlers, skid steers).

Full-time, flexible. Must be willing to support field teams across 1st and 2nd shifts and work extended hours or weekends as critical deployment milestones dictate.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The company is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.
