Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Master Data Management Specialist to oversee master data, BOMs, RMAs, and documentation. You will work with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sales and other departments to ensure data accuracy, revision control, and timely processing, while supporting audits and reporting.

Proficiency with Teamcenter and ETQ software, and ITAR compliance knowledge, are required. The role emphasizes meticulous data handling, standard processes, and delivering monthly status reports,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience in engineering or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • ITAR eligibility and US work authorization. No visa sponsorship.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards and internal auditing.
  • Experience with investment casting process flow.

Responsibilities

  • Use Teamcenter to manage work instructions and published documentation.
  • Process customer specifications, BOMs, blueprints, and related docs.
  • Create and manage RMAs; track returns and disposition with ETQ.
  • Coordinate with Quality Engineers on disposition and actions.
  • Maintain master data and documentation records across systems.
  • Prepare and distribute periodic status reports to management.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Sales.
  • Store and retain physical and electronic specifications and records.
  • Handle X-ray film records and other designated records.
  • Conduct internal audits to verify procedure compliance.

Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist

Job Summary:

The Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist manages master data, work instruction documentation, customer specifications, BOMs, RMAs, customer returns, and record-retention activities. The position ensures accuracy, revision control, timely processing, and proper management of data and documentation, while supporting internal audits, periodic reporting, and cross-functional business processes. This role works closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other departments to ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and established procedures.

Salary:

  • Anticipated Pay Range: $65K-80K per year. Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize Teamcenter software to manage work instruction documentation, including creating product containers for all work instructions, creating containers for specific operations, processing instructions through required approval workflows, publishing approved instructions to WIE software for official use, and archiving obsolete or outdated documentation.

  • Process customer specifications, Bill of Materials, blueprints, and related technical documentation through established review, approval, publishing, and retention processes.

  • Create, process, and maintain Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and control the customer return process using Howmet systems and ETQ software.

  • Manage customer returns from receipt through final disposition, including receiving returned products, removing and identifying products from packaging, entering required information into ETQ, coordinating with Quality Engineers regarding product disposition and next steps, tracking return status, and providing monthly status reports to management.

  • Maintain accurate master data and documentation records within applicable company systems, ensuring information is complete, accurate, current, and processed according to established procedures.

  • Prepare and distribute periodic reports to management and appropriate departments, including status, open/close RMAs, outstanding actions and other metrics.

  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and other departments to support documentation, master data, RMA, customer return, audit, and record-retention activities.

  • Manage the organization, storage, retrieval, and retention of physical and electronic customer specifications, work instructions, quality records, and other controlled documentation.

  • Manage the retention and handling of X-ray film and other designated records, including preparation for shipment, tracking, retrieval, and return to the facility when required.

  • Conduct internal audits throughout various departments and facility areas to verify compliance with established procedures, documentation requirements, quality standards, and applicable site policies.

  • Comply with all site-required policies and procedures, including but not limited to Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, and Code of Conduct requirements.

  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by management, consistent with the role and needs of the organization.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree is preferred.
  • One year of relative work experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and organized data and documentation.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Three to five years of relative work experience, preferably in engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of investment casting process flow.
