Job summary

Applied Fluid Power is seeking a Master Data Analyst to own data quality and steward enterprise master data strategy across ERP, PIM, MDM, and related platforms. You will protect the Golden Record, define data standards, and enable trusted data for analytics, eCommerce, and AI initiatives.

Job description

The Master Data Analyst is Applied Fluid Power's hands-on owner of data quality and a key steward of the company's enterprise master data strategy. This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Golden Record across all systems that consume and depend on master data, including Prophet 21, SolidWorks, VEST, CPQ, the Hydradyne Web Shop, training and content platforms, and future business systems as they are introduced. Working closely with system owners, business leaders, and functional teams, the Master Data Analyst ensures consistent data definitions, structures, and exchange processes across platforms while balancing the unique requirements of each application.

The role owns the day-to-day governance, maintenance, cleansing, reporting, and continuous improvement of customer, vendor, item, and product information across Applied Fluid Power's network of subsidiaries. This position is a critical component of AFP's three-year data strategy, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the data that powers business systems, integrations, analytics, eCommerce platforms, and emerging AI capabilities. By providing the discipline required to sustain a trusted enterprise data foundation, the Master Data Analyst helps both operational teams and company leadership execute AFP's long-term data strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of Applied Fluid Power's Golden Record across ERP, PIM, engineering, eCommerce, quoting, and other enterprise platforms.
• Execute day-to-day creation, maintenance, enrichment, and governance of customer, vendor, item, and product master data in accordance with established data standards.
• Ensure consistent data definitions, structures, and relationships across systems while supporting the unique requirements of each business application.
• Identify recurring data quality issues, process gaps, and governance opportunities, escalating recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement.

Data Quality, Governance & Remediation

• Conduct routine audits and validation activities to identify duplicates, inconsistencies, missing attributes, and other data quality risks.
• Lead and execute data cleansing, remediation, consolidation, and mass-update initiatives across master data domains.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor data quality metrics, scorecards, and reporting that measure completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
• Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities related to master data processes, integrations, and system enhancements.
• Maintain and enrich product information within AFP's Product Information Management (PIM) environment to support operational, commercial, and digital business needs.
• Manage supplier-provided product attributes and ensure alignment with AFP's enterprise data standards and system requirements.
• Support new item onboarding, catalog expansion, and product data initiatives across AFP's subsidiary network.
• Partner with business stakeholders to improve the quality, usability, and consistency of product and supplier data across platforms.

Reporting, Analysis & Business Support

• Develop and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, and analyses that support data governance, operational performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform ad hoc data analysis to support business decisions and identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to master data.
• Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for business leaders, system owners, and functional teams.
• Document and maintain standard operating procedures, data standards, and governance processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with system owners, business leaders, and functional teams to ensure consistent and effective data exchange across enterprise platforms.
• Collaborate with Data & AI, Operational Excellence, IT, and business stakeholders to support enterprise data initiatives and strategic priorities.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for master data governance, quality, and reporting practices.
• Contribute to the ongoing evolution and execution of AFP's enterprise data strategy.

Qualifications

Required

• 2+ years of experience working with ERP, PIM, MDM, or other enterprise business systems.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience managing, maintaining, or analyzing large volumes of master data.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills with the ability to work accurately within detailed datasets.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data quality, accuracy, and process discipline.
• Experience creating reports, dashboards, or data visualizations using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple functions and business units.

Preferred

• Experience with Prophet 21 (P21), Epicor, Product Information Management (PIM), or Master Data Management (MDM) platforms.
• Experience with data governance, data quality management, cleansing, or remediation initiatives.
• Familiarity with distribution, manufacturing, industrial products, procurement, inventory, or customer master data processes.
• Basic SQL, query development, or database reporting experience.
• Experience supporting multi-site, multi-subsidiary, or enterprise-scale organizations.

The Master Data Analyst is a critical member of Applied Fluid Power's Data & AI team and serves as the operational steward of the company's enterprise master data foundation. Working closely with business leaders, system owners, and data governance stakeholders, this role ensures the quality, consistency, and reliability of the information that powers AFP's business systems, integrations, analytics, digital commerce platforms, and emerging AI capabilities.
