Job summary

Vitruvian Health is seeking a skilled refrigeration and air conditioning technician to perform inspections, repairs, and adjustments on medical center equipment. The role includes training responsibilities and may involve outdoor work and on-call duties.

Experience with Freon handling and safety protocols is required. Candidate must have a high school diploma with technical training and EPA universal certification, plus 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with two to three years technical training.
• EPA universal certification in refrigerant recovery, recycling and reclamation.
• Experience: technical shop courses or equivalent in refrigeration/air conditioning service and repair.
• Minimum 5 years progressive on-the-job experience.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Familiar with standard hand tools and electrical skills for schematics.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, replace and adjust refrigeration/AC equipment for safety and compliance.
• Provide training to refrigeration/AC technicians.
• Work indoors and outdoors; consider weather and hazards; on-call and weekend work.
• Keep logs for Freon usage and maintain accurate records.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for all routine inspections, repairs, replacement and adjustments to the refrigeration and air conditioning equipment to assume comport and optimal safety for patients and associates and compliance with the medical center and other related JCAHO standards. Provides training to all refrigeration/air conditioning technicians. Work is both indoor and outdoor. Inclement weather can be a factor. May encounter hazards associated with electrical repairs. Requires using caution while handling refrigerant and other chemicals. Requires flexible work schedule, weekend and on-call work. Must be able to adjust to changing tasks and make accurate, independent decisions on the repair of malfunctioning equipment. Must use good judgment in working with others and planning jobs. Individual will be required to perform other duties as required and given by the supervisor(s). Must keep logs for their own refrigeration Freon usage.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent with two to three years technical training.
• Licensure: EPA universal certification in refrigerant recovery, recycling and reclamation.
• Experience: Must have technical shop courses or equivalent previous experience in refrigeration and air conditioning service and repair.
• Requires minimum 5 years progressive on the job experience.
• Skills: Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Must be familiar with use of standard hand tools and possess electrical skills necessary to work from schematics.
• Requires ability to use refrigeration tools and equipment according to appropriate guidelines and maintain accurate records.
