Job summary

Mohegan Sun is seeking a skilled cook to join our fast-paced culinary team in southeastern Connecticut. The role prepares food for service, sets up the cooking line, and dishes multiple stations to fill guest orders, sometimes assuming a leadership role in the absence of the Chef in charge.

Responsibilities include following established recipes, maintaining a clean, sanitary work area, and supporting the kitchen with quality prep and line duties.

Qualifications

• Four years of culinary experience in a high volume, food and beverage operation or two years of culinary training plus two years of experience may be considered.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers in English.

Position Summary: This position prepares food for service, sets up the cooking line and prepares food in designated stations to fill customer orders. Sometimes assumes a leadership role in the absence of the Chef in charge.

Minimum Education and Qualifications: Four years of culinary experience in a high volume, food and beverage operation or two years of culinary training plus two years of experience may be considered Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers in English

• Good verbal communication skills

• Advanced knife skills
• Ability to produce quality work on all stations in the kitchen
• Knowledge of safe and efficient operation of kitchen equipment

Training Requirements: Understanding of health and sanitation guidelines

Physical Demands and Work Environment: Fast paced kitchen environment Must be able to stand for long periods of time with frequent lifting and bending Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
