Job summary

FOX KDFW 4 in North Texas is seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Master Control Technician for an 8-week assignment at a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. You will manage day-to-day MC operations, ingest, and on-air switching with precision.

The role requires experience with MC automation, IP/satellite transmission, and EAS/logging, plus the ability to multitask under live-air pressure. Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays; equality of opportunity.

Qualifications

2-year technical or RTf degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
1 year of experience as a Master Control Technician or related role strongly preferred.
Proficiency with master control automation, IP/satellite transmission platforms, current operating systems, iNews, and industry broadcast software applications.
Strong multitasking, clear communication, effective team player, and able to remain calm under live-air pressure.
Availability to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Execute day-to-day Master Control operations, running MC automation software, graphics playback systems, and on-air switching with precision.
Oversee transmission platforms, utilizing IP video and satellite platforms for feed acquisition, routing, and distribution.
Process, ingest, and verify incoming news and syndicated programming content for air.
Maintain transmitter logs, FCC requirements, and Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests.
Multi-task across multiple technical systems under tight deadlines in a top-tier market station.
