Job summary

WAND-TV/Gray Media is seeking a Master Control Operator to ensure uninterrupted on-air broadcast streams and digital subchannels. The role requires working in a 24/7 environment with nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation is $18.00 per hour, with full-time hours and a Monday–Friday framework or manager discretion. The operator will monitor feeds, check audio/video quality, switch content, and coordinate with production, traffic, and engineering teams, maintaining logs and handling

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; broadcast, media, or electronics coursework is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Familiarity with broadcast automation, audio/video equipment, and signal monitoring.
• Clear communication and teamwork; flexible for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Summary/Description:

As a Master Control Operator, you'll be responsible for the continuous, uninterrupted operation of on-air broadcast streams and digital subchannels. Operating in a 24/7 broadcast environment with flexibility to work nights, weekends, & holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring broadcast feeds; audio/video quality checking of syndication and commercials; switching and playing out programs, commercials, and promos; maintaining logs and following timing of on-air programming; running audio for newscasts; coordinating with production, traffic, and engineering teams; and responding to equipment, signal, or schedule issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; broadcast, media, or electronics coursework is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Basic computer and troubleshooting skills; familiarity with broadcast automation, audio/video equipment, and signal monitoring is helpful.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, & holidays
